    Overview

Girls' Last Tour follows two young girls, Chito and Yuuri, as they traverse a frozen, post-apocalyptic world in a half-track motorcycle called a Kettenkrad. The war that destroyed civilization is long over, leaving behind a silent, decaying city of towering concrete layers. With no clear destination, the pair scavenge for food and fuel, sharing quiet conversations about the strange artifacts they uncover—books, music, and photographs that hint at a lost world. Their journey is less about survival than about finding small moments of wonder in the ruins.

The manga was serialized monthly on Shinchosha's Kurage Bunch website from February 2014 to January 2018, with chapters collected into six tankōbon volumes. Tsukumizu, the creator, began the series as a short story based on personal questions about existence and companionship. The art style is sparse and expressive, using wide panels and minimal dialogue to evoke a meditative tone. An anime adaptation by White Fox aired from October to December 2017, covering the first four volumes and adding extended scenes like the iconic Moonlight dance.

Critics have praised the series as a standout iyashikei (healing) work, blending a bleak setting with gentle humor and philosophical depth. It won the 50th Seiun Award for Best Comic in 2019, and the anime won Best Slice of Life at the 2018 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. The story's focus on curiosity and connection in a hopeless world has resonated strongly with audiences, often compared to Kino's Journey for its reflective travel narrative.
