Ginuwine

Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, born October 15, 1970, in Washington, D.C., commands the R&B landscape under the stage name Ginuwine. He started his journey in the early 1990s as part of the Swing Mob collective before launching a solo career that redefined the sound of the late 90s. His debut single "Pony" arrived in 1996 on Epic Records and quickly climbed to number six on the Billboard Hot 100. That track paved the way for his first studio album, Ginuwine...the Bachelor, which earned double platinum status from the Recording Industry Association of America. Ginuwine maintained strong momentum throughout the next decade with two more top-five albums: 100% Ginuwine in 1999 and The Life in 2001. The latter featured "Differences," a track that reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and stands as his highest-charting song. His fourth record, The Senior, released in 2003, produced the top ten hit "In Those Jeans" alongside "Hell Yeah" and "Stingy." After moving to Warner Records, he dropped A Man's Thoughts in 2009 following his final Epic release, Back II da Basics. Billboard reported sales of nearly seven million albums in the United States by 2013. Beyond his solo work, Ginuwine formed the trio TGT with Tyrese Gibson and Tank in 2007, releasing one studio album together. His acting credits span across several films and television appearances, showcasing his versatility beyond music.
