George Harrison achieved a rare double induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, first with the Beatles in 1988 and then as a solo performer in 2004. He created the model for modern charity concerts with his 1971 Concert for Bangladesh that raised millions and paved the way for Live Aid and similar events. His song Something stands as one of the most recorded tracks in pop history with over 150 cover versions. Harrison holds the distinction of being the first Beatle to release a solo album that hit number one on the charts. His work introduced millions of Western listeners to Indian classical music and sitar playing through both Beatles records and his own projects. These accomplishments reflect his unique path as a musician who balanced massive commercial success with deep spiritual and artistic exploration.
