Sir Geoff Hurst's place in football history is unique. He is the only player ever to score a hat-trick in a men's World Cup final, a feat that has stood for nearly 60 years and seems unlikely to be equaled. That single performance made him a national hero and gave England its greatest sporting moment. Beyond that, he was a key figure in West Ham's most successful era, winning the FA Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup.
