Gara Duran

Gara Durán is a Spanish singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Madrid. She writes and produces her own music, blending indie pop with electronic textures and organic instrumentation. Her career gained significant momentum in the early 2020s, leading to major industry recognition by 2026 when she was named part of Spotify's RADAR Spain Class of 2026 and featured on Forbes España's 30 Under 30 list.

Durán stands out in the contemporary Latin pop landscape for her hands-on approach to creation. Unlike many peers who rely solely on external producers, she handles the production, songwriting, and performance aspects of her work herself. Her sound is characterized by emotional depth and genre fluidity, earning her a dedicated following on streaming platforms and social media. [edit]

Born and raised in Madrid, Gara Durán began her musical journey at a young age through formal training. She attended Estudios Pastora, a prestigious music school in the city, where she honed her skills on guitar and piano. This classical foundation provided the technical backbone for her later experimental work. While studying, she became deeply immersed in the local music scene, spending countless hours experimenting with self-taught production techniques alongside her instrumental studies.

Her early years were defined by a desire to control her creative output completely. Durán started creating demos that showcased her unique ability to blend electronic elements with organic sounds. These early recordings hinted at the mature lyrical content and sophisticated production that would later define her professional releases. Before stepping into the spotlight, she spent years refining her craft in the shadows of Madrid's vibrant cultural district, preparing the ground for her independent debut. [edit]

Durán launched her professional career in earnest in 2022 with a batch of self-written and self-produced tracks. This period marked her transition from a student musician to an independent artist, releasing songs that quickly garnered attention for their distinct sonic identity. By 2025, she had built a robust discography featuring standout singles such as "Perderte," "Una casa en el Teide," "Placer de vivir," "Mi loco cowboy," "TROYA," "ALKIMIA," "Kryptonita," and "Robot." Her EP ALKIMIA served as a pivotal moment, solidifying her status as a rising force in the Latin pop scene.

The year 2026 brought significant accolades that cemented her position among emerging talent. She was selected for Spotify's RADAR Spain program, a curated initiative designed to highlight promising artists across the Spanish-speaking world. Shortly after, she earned a spot on the Forbes España 30 Under 30 list for 2026 in the Music category. These honors placed her alongside some of the most influential young creatives in the region. Currently, she continues to promote her latest releases and perform live, collaborating with directors like Rubí for her visual projects while maintaining her reputation as a self-made artist.
