    Overview

Marianne stands alone in the lobby of Hotel Mir, a decaying resort where the air smells of damp rot and old secrets. As a medium, she perceives two realities at once: the physical world of crumbling concrete and the spirit realm of twisted shadows. This duality defines her journey through the abandoned corridors, forcing her to solve puzzles by manipulating objects visible only in one dimension or the other.

The narrative unfolds as a linear investigation into the fate of Marianne's mother and the massacre that destroyed the hotel decades ago. Players navigate tense encounters with malevolent spirits while uncovering a story steeped in grief and loss. The game relies on atmospheric tension and environmental storytelling rather than constant combat, creating an experience focused on dread and discovery.

    Gameplay

The core mechanic splits the screen vertically, allowing players to view the real world and the spirit world simultaneously. This visual divide is essential for progression, as blocked paths in reality often have clear routes in the spirit realm and vice versa. Players can switch perspectives instantly using a dedicated button, though complex puzzles require interacting with elements in both dimensions at the same time.

Combat remains limited and tense, often requiring the use of specific abilities or environmental hazards instead of traditional weapons. When Marianne enters a possessed state, the camera shifts to a first-person perspective for immersive interactions with spirits. The design prioritizes claustrophobia and atmosphere over action, ensuring the environment reacts dynamically to the player's presence in either dimension.

    Story

Hotel Mir sits silent in rural Poland, its history marked by a tragic massacre that occurred years prior. Marianne arrives after receiving a distress signal from her estranged mother, who once resided there. As she explores the grounds, the boundary between the living world and the dead begins to blur completely.

The investigation reveals the dark past of the location and the specific fate of Marianne's mother. Malevolent forces tied to the hotel actively hinder her progress, demanding she confront painful memories to move forward. The narrative structure follows a cinematic path where players must piece together events leading to the tragedy by navigating both dimensions.
