Bethesda Game Studios officially confirmed Fallout 5 during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 13, 2023. Director Todd Howard stated the project is in early pre-production, with full development to follow the release of The Elder Scrolls VI. This means the game likely won't arrive until the late 2020s or early 2030s. The announcement came amid renewed interest in the franchise, fueled by the successful Amazon Prime TV series adaptation.
