EA Sports FC 25 is the second installment in the EA Sports FC series and the 32nd overall in EA's football simulation lineage. Released on 27 September 2024, the game is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Early access for Ultimate Edition pre-orders began on 20 September 2024.

The game introduces FC IQ, a tactical system powered by real-world data that adjusts player roles and team behavior for more authentic positioning. Hypermotion V returns with over 12,000 new animations captured from volumetric match data, making movement smoother and more realistic. The new Rush mode offers 5v5 fast-paced football across Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Kick-Off. PlayStyles have been expanded with more detailed player archetypes, and Career Mode adds Live Start Points, letting players jump into real-world scenarios from specific dates in the current season.

Developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania and published by Electronic Arts, the game runs on the Frostbite Engine. On PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, it supports native 4K at 60 fps with enhanced lighting and stadium atmospheres. The Nintendo Switch version runs at 30 fps with lower resolution. EA Sports FC 25 sold over 10 million units in its first two months and generated over $600 million in Ultimate Team microtransaction revenue within three months. EA Sports FC 25 builds on the core football simulation formula with several new systems. FC IQ uses real-world match data to define player roles and team tactics, affecting how players move and make decisions on the pitch. This system allows for more positional play and authentic team shapes. Hypermotion V technology adds over 12,000 new animations, including more natural turns, passes, and tackles, using volumetric data from real matches.

The Rush mode introduces 5v5 matches with simplified rules, no offside, and shorter game length. It is available in Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Kick-Off, emphasizing fast-paced arcade action. PlayStyles have been expanded into more detailed categories, giving players unique abilities that mirror real-world traits. Career Mode now includes Live Start Points, allowing players to start from any point in the current season with real standings, injuries, and form. The youth academy and player development systems have been revised for more depth.

Ultimate Team remains the flagship mode with weekly promotions, FUT Champions weekend league, and Squad Battles. Clubs mode lets players create a virtual pro and compete in 11v11 online matches. Online Seasons and Co-op Seasons offer ranked 1v1 and 2v2 play. Cross-play is fully supported between PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with limited cross-play for last-gen consoles.[edit]

EA Sports FC 25 does not have a traditional narrative. The single-player experience is centered on Career Mode, where players can create a manager or player and guide them through a football career. There is no scripted story beyond the emergent narratives from match results, transfers, and player development.
