Batman Begins drops players into the dark, rain-slicked streets of Gotham City, chronicling Bruce Wayne's first year as the Caped Crusader. The game blends stealth and action-adventure gameplay, letting you use fear tactics, gadgets, and hand-to-hand combat to take down criminals. You can stalk enemies from the shadows, use Batarangs to disable lights, or unleash a flurry of blows in direct confrontation. The story follows the film's plot closely, from Wayne's training with the League of Shadows to his showdown with Ra's al Ghul. Developed by Eurocom for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox, the game launched on June 14, 2005, published by Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. A separate Game Boy Advance version was made by Vicarious Visions, while Klear Games handled a mobile phone adaptation, both shifting to action-platformer style. The console release features voice work from most of the film's cast, including Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Liam Neeson, though Gary Oldman's Commissioner Gordon is voiced by Gavin Hammon instead.

The game received mixed reviews, with critics praising its atmosphere and stealth mechanics but faulting its linearity and short length. A PlayStation Portable port was planned but never released for unknown reasons. A sequel titled Batman: The Dark Knight, based on the 2008 film, was in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 but was ultimately cancelled, making this the last movie tie-in game for a Batman film from Warner Bros. The signature mechanic is fear. Batman can intimidate enemies by using gadgets like the High Frequency Transponder, which summons a swarm of bats, or by smashing lights and creating dark corners. When the fear bar fills, a single-hit takedown finishes the last enemy. Core tools include batarangs, smoke grenades, and flash bang grenades. The stealth sections play like a simplified Splinter Cell, with Batman sticking to shadows and using perches to drop on foes. There are also brief driving sequences piloting the Tumbler through Gotham's streets. After completing the main story, players unlock alternate costumes and a Gallery of Fear that provides bios on villains and enemies. [edit]

Bruce Wayne trains with the League of Shadows under Ra's al Ghul, but refuses to execute a criminal, burning down the monastery and breaking with his mentor. Returning to Gotham, he builds his identity as Batman with help from Alfred and Lucius Fox. The game follows the film's plot closely, from stopping Carmine Falcone's drug operation to facing the Scarecrow's fear toxin in Arkham Asylum. The ending differs slightly: Batman destroys the Tumbler to stop Ra's al Ghul's train, whereas in the film the tracks are destroyed.
