Yua has just been dumped by her boyfriend. Reina has been single for a while. So when Reina casually suggests they start dating, Yua agrees, and the two enter a relationship with a one-year trial run attached. A year passes quickly, and they find themselves in their third year of high school, enjoying their daily lives together as both students and a couple. The series skips the typical will-they-won't-they tension and instead focuses on the small, real moments of a new relationship, holding hands for the first time, navigating school parties, exchanging gifts, and dealing with everyday misunderstandings like a misread text message or a canceled outing due to rain.

Koharu Inoue, best known for The Duke of Death and His Maid, draws the gyaru aesthetic with obvious care. Every outfit, from leopard-print skirts to layered accessories and platform sandals, is rendered in crisp detail. The art style makes the fashion subculture feel lived-in rather than costumed. Inoue also brings a light comedic touch: the girls fumble through dates, deal with teasing friends, and occasionally get flustered by their own boldness. The series originated from Inoue's earlier one-shot Gyaru to Gyaru, which tested the characters and concept.

Serialized on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry platform starting June 10, 2025, the first tankōbon volume was released in Japan on December 26, 2025. Viz Media licensed the series for English release, first as a simulpub on its website and app beginning December 8, 2025, with the print edition scheduled for Spring 2027 under the Shojo Beat imprint. The English translation is by Mei Amaki, with lettering by Rebecca Sze. Early reader responses on MyAnimeList give the series approximately 7.5 out of 10, with praise for its refusal to manufacture unnecessary drama. The series was ranked 5th in AnimeJapan's "Manga We Want to See Animated" poll in 2026 and was nominated for the twelfth Next Manga Award in the web category. [edit]
