About This Album
Dove Cameron spent years fighting to get Final Girl out of her hard drive. Columbia and Disruptor Records repeatedly blocked the release, and Cameron has said she begged the label to put it out. Early singles like "Too Much" and "Whatever You Like" arrived in 2025, then vanished from the final track list. The album lands November 6, 2026, after she scrapped and rebuilt it more than once. The two songs leading the actual rollout are "When in Rome" and "Do the Math."
Musically, the record trades the polished pop of her Alchemical: Volume 1 EP for something darker, built on gothic pop, synth-rock, and theatrical balladry. Cameron has described the title as a horror trope flipped on its head, using it to explore survival, rage, and the messy aftermath of being underestimated. It is her debut full-length, and it sounds like one made by someone who refused to take no for an answer.
The announcement landed in late October 2026, roughly two weeks before the street date, with Cameron promising a special gift for fans alongside the news. That short runway fits a campaign that had already been running for over a year in fits and starts. Whatever the final record holds, the story of how it got here is its own kind of survivor narrative.
