Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü, commonly known as Fenerbahçe, is a professional multi-sport club based in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul, Turkey. Founded on May 3, 1907, as Phener-Bagtche Football Club, the club has grown into one of the most successful and widely supported sports organizations in Turkey. The football branch competes in the Süper Lig, the top division of Turkish football, and plays its home matches at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, which has been the club's home since 1908.

Fenerbahçe is part of the Big Three clubs of Turkish football, alongside Galatasaray and Beşiktaş, with intense rivalries that define the league. The club's colors are yellow and navy blue, and its mascot is the yellow canary. The fan base is known for its passionate atmosphere, making the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium a formidable venue for opponents. Fenerbahçe was founded in 1907 by a group of local men including Nurizade Ziya Songülen, Ayetullah Bey, and Necip Okaner. Due to Ottoman restrictions on football as a foreign import, the club operated discreetly for its first year. The name Fenerbahçe combines the Greek fanári (lighthouse) with Turkish bahçe (garden), meaning lighthouse garden. The club quickly became a force in the Istanbul Football League, winning multiple titles before the national league was established.

In 1959, the Süper Lig was formed, and Fenerbahçe became its first champion. The club has since won 19 Süper Lig titles. Internationally, Fenerbahçe made history by winning the Balkans Cup in 1966-67, becoming the first Turkish club to claim an international trophy. In the UEFA Champions League, the club reached the quarter-finals in 2007-08, and in the UEFA Europa League, they reached the semi-finals in 2012-13. In 2006, Fenerbahçe became the first Turkish team invited to participate in a G-14 conference, the predecessor of the European Club Association.

The club has also been a breeding ground for talent, developing players like Arda Güler, who transferred to Real Madrid in 2023, and Ferdi Kadıoğlu. Fenerbahçe holds a Guinness World Record for the most medals and trophies across all its sports branches, with 1,134 cups and medals.
