Jones's career is marked by two Academy Award nominations, for The Theory of Everything and The Brutalist, making her one of the few actresses to earn nominations for both a lead and supporting role. She won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize and the Special Jury Prize for Acting for Like Crazy, a rare double. Her British Independent Film Award and Empire Award wins reflect consistent recognition from her home country. In 2017 she received an honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of Birmingham. She was also named to the Time 100 Next list in 2019, highlighting her as a leader in the next generation of entertainers.
