Feelin' It

Feelin' It, released April 15, 1997, as the fourth single from Jay-Z's debut album Reasonable Doubt, is a smooth jazz-rap track produced by Ski. Built on a sample of Ahmad Jamal's Pastures, the song features a melodic chorus sung by Mecca and showcases Jay-Z's confident, luxurious lyricism. It peaked at number 22 on Billboard's Hot Rap Singles chart and number 46 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, though it did not enter the Hot 100.

The beat was originally intended for the duo Camp Lo. Producer Ski recalled in an interview with XXL Magazine that Jay-Z heard it and insisted on taking it, despite Ski's initial reluctance. The song's chorus was later parodied by 50 Cent on his 2002 diss track Be a Gentleman, part of a larger feud between the two rappers. Despite this, the track remains a fan favorite and has been covered by The Roots on their live album The Roots Come Alive. Kendrick Lamar also sampled its instrumental on The Art of Peer Pressure.
