FCSB

Fotbal Club FCSB operates as a professional football club based in Bucharest, competing exclusively in Liga I since the league's formation. The organization traces its roots to June 7, 1947, when it was established as ASA București under the Ministry of National Defence. Decades later, the entity underwent a significant transformation following legal disputes over the use of the Steaua brand, eventually rebranding as FCSB in 2017 after separating from the original CSA Steaua București.

The squad for the 2026–2027 season comprises 29 players with an average age of 26.0 years. This roster includes 11 foreign nationals representing 37.9% of the team and features nine players who have represented their national teams. Under the original identity of FC Steaua București, the team achieved global prominence by winning the European Cup in 1986, becoming the first team from the Eastern Bloc to secure this title. The current entity separated from the military-owned CSA Steaua București, retaining the right to use the name FCSB while the military retained the original Steaua name and certain historical records.

Domestically, FCSB has won numerous Liga I titles, making them one of the most decorated clubs in Romanian history alongside their rivals. Their most intense rivalry is with Dinamo București, known as the Bucharest Derby, which is widely considered the most passionate and heated derby in Romania. Other notable rivalries include matches against CFR Cluj and Universitatea Craiova.
