FC Metz

Football Club de Metz emerged in 1932 from a merger of local clubs to represent the industrial city of Metz in northeastern France. The team adopted the nickname Les Grenats, or The Garnets, referencing the deep maroon color of their kits and the red garnet stones found in the region. Their crest features the Graoully, a mythical dragon from Lorraine folklore that guards the city's history.

The club has spent much of its existence oscillating between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. They play their home matches at the Stade Saint-Symphorien, a venue that has served as their fortress since the early days of the organization. Despite these challenges, the club maintained its status as a key player in French football through careful management and youth development.
