Founded on April 12, 1942, during the height of World War II, PFC Krylia Sovetov Samara emerged as a club representing the Soviet aviation industry. The name translates directly to "Wings of the Soviets," a title that stuck as the team grew from a factory side into a professional entity based in Samara on the Volga River. The squad currently competes in the Russian Premier League, playing home games at the Cosmos Arena. This modern stadium was built for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and holds nearly 45,000 spectators.
