Born on November 8, 2001, in Karachi, Fatima Sana has rapidly ascended from a local talent to the helm of the Pakistan women's cricket team. A right-arm medium-fast bowler, she brings a fiery energy to the pitch that defines her leadership style. Her journey began with domestic stints for Karachi and Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited before she expanded her reach to international franchise leagues like Barbados Royals and Canterbury Magicians. Her breakthrough came in April 2019 when selectors picked her for the series against South Africa, marking the start of her international career. Sana made her Women's One Day International debut on May 6, 2019, just weeks after joining the squad, and followed it up with a T20I appearance five days later. The following year proved pivotal as she secured a spot in the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup squad in Australia and earned a shortlist nomination for the PCB Emerging Cricketer of the Year award. By June 2021, she delivered a career-defining performance during the tour of the West Indies, claiming a five-wicket haul (5/39) in the final match.
