Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya
Hiroshi Hiroyama
Overview
Illyasviel von Einzbern wakes up as an elementary school student in a world where the Holy Grail War never happened. Her quiet life shatters when she meets Magical Ruby, a sentient wand that binds her to a contract. She must hunt down seven Class Cards scattered across town, each holding the spirit of a Heroic Servant from the Fate universe. Fighting alongside Miyu Edelfelt and her own wand, Magical Sapphire, Illya transforms into a magical girl to battle these spirits before they cause chaos.
Hiroshi Hiroyama created this alternate take under the pen name KALMIA. The series launched in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace magazine in 2007. The first volume arrived on November 26, 2008, but the story continued with two sequels: Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei! (2009–2012) and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 3rei!! (2012–2024). One Peace Books licensed the English version, releasing the first arc in 2017.
The franchise sold over 2 million copies in Japan by 2021. Silver Link adapted the manga into an anime starting in 2013, followed by multiple seasons and films like Licht Nameless Girl. A Nintendo 3DS game appeared in 2014, and a stage play hit Tokyo in 2023. In July 2026, producers announced a final TV anime titled Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Finale for 2027, while pre-orders for new Illya and Miyu statues opened in August 2026.
