Faruk Turgut

Turgut's record is commercial rather than ceremonial, and it is worth stating plainly on its own terms. He has worked in Turkish film and television since 1978 without a gap, moving from assistant director to director to the owner of a production company that has kept a top-rated drama on air through a court fight and a political storm. Very few producers in the Turkish market can point to a series that survived both. Kızılcık Şerbeti has been a ratings leader for years, and Erkenci Kuş travelled far beyond Turkey. He holds no trophies that this database can verify, which is a different thing from holding no achievements.
