Born on August 1, 1995, in Azerbaijan, Farman Hasanov spent his early years developing the physical discipline that would later define his career. Specific details about his childhood hometown remain scarce in public records, but his athletic foundation was laid through competitive freestyle wrestling. This sport provided the technical base necessary for his eventual success in mixed martial arts, teaching him leverage, balance, and control.

Before stepping into the professional cage, Hasanov honed his abilities in amateur grappling circuits. He spent considerable time training in these circuits, mastering the nuances of takedowns and ground control. The decision to transition from wrestling to professional combat sports was a calculated move aimed at reaching a wider audience. He competed for the Legacy Fighting Alliance during this formative period, where he compiled a winning record and refined his transition from pure wrestling to the hybrid demands of MMA.

His performance in the LFA caught the attention of scouts, leading to a signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. This move marked the end of his pre-fame era and the beginning of his tenure on the world's biggest stage. Before this breakthrough, he had already established himself as a top prospect in the welterweight class through consistent victories and a clear demonstration of his unique grappling-heavy style. [edit]

Hasanov made his debut in the UFC welterweight division following a successful run in the Legacy Fighting Alliance. He quickly became a notable contender, leveraging his wrestling background to dominate opponents on the ground. His professional record grew steadily as he faced increasingly tough competition, showcasing his ability to adapt his striking and grappling to different opponents.

A defining moment in his career occurred on October 31, 2026, at UFC Vegas 123. Facing Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani, the bout ended dramatically when Lebosnoyani inflicted severe facial damage on Hasanov. The fight resulted in a doctor stoppage TKO in the third round due to significant lacerations, including a hanging eyebrow and extensive bleeding. This event garnered widespread attention within the MMA community, with UFC President Dana White sharing images of the aftermath to highlight the brutality of the contest.

Despite the recent setback, Hasanov remains a recognized figure in the welterweight division. His training regimen at American Top Team continues to prepare him for future challenges. As of November 2026, he is in recovery from his last bout, with no official announcement regarding his next scheduled fight. His journey from a regional wrestler to a UFC competitor illustrates the path many fighters take to reach the pinnacle of their sport. [edit]

Hasanov projects the image of a disciplined and resilient warrior. His fighting style, characterized by a heavy reliance on grappling and wrestling, distinguishes him in a division often dominated by strikers. Media coverage frequently highlights his toughness, particularly after his recent high-profile bout where he sustained significant injuries but remained in the fight until the doctor intervened.

Outside the octagon, he presents a focused and serious demeanor. His social media content is straightforward, featuring training footage and updates related to his UFC career rather than lifestyle fluff. This approach reinforces his identity as a dedicated athlete whose primary goal is competition. [edit]
