Standing 6 feet 4 inches tall, Brandon wears jersey number 11 and has drawn significant attention for his arm strength and mobility on the field.

His path to the starting lineup was marked by high expectations following dominant high school performances where he led Grimsley Senior High School to back-to-back state championships. Faizon Brandon grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where his athletic journey began long before he ever stepped onto a college campus. From a young age, he displayed exceptional talent that set him apart from his peers in youth football leagues across the region. Scouts quickly took notice of his physical attributes and natural leadership qualities, identifying him as a top-tier prospect with the potential to compete at the highest levels of the sport.

His development continued through Grimsley Senior High School, where he transformed into one of the most decorated high school quarterbacks in the state's history. During his time there, Brandon led the team to consecutive state titles in 2024 and 2025, earning MVP honors in both championship seasons. His dominance on the gridiron earned him a spot on the Adidas All-American roster and placed him firmly on the radar of major college programs nationwide.

The recruitment process for Brandon was a major storyline in the SEC, with multiple elite programs vying for his commitment. Despite the intense competition, he chose to sign with the University of Tennessee, bringing immediate hype and excitement to the Volunteers' program. This decision marked the culmination of years of hard work and set the stage for his transition to the collegiate level, where he would soon face the pressures of playing in front of massive crowds and under the bright lights of national television. Brandon's collegiate career began in earnest during the 2026 season when he joined the Tennessee Volunteers as a freshman. He started the year with mixed results, facing significant pressure from opposing defenses. A standout moment came in a narrow loss to Texas, where he absorbed 10 sacks but continued to fight through the adversity. His performance statistics for the season include 697 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception, alongside 53 rushing attempts that showcased his dual-threat capabilities.

A pivotal moment occurred on October 3, 2026, during a game against Auburn. After a disastrous start in the second quarter, head coach Josh Heupel made the difficult decision to bench Brandon in favor of George MacIntyre. The move sparked immediate debate among fans and analysts regarding the future of the starting quarterback position. Despite the setback, Brandon worked diligently to recover from the mental and physical toll of the game.

Following the benching, Brandon dealt with an injury sustained during the loss to Texas that raised concerns about his availability. However, reports in mid-October indicated he had returned to full practice activity. By late October, he was cleared to play, though MacIntyre was initially named the starter for the matchup against Alabama. As of October 2026, Brandon remains active on the roster, competing fiercely for the starting role and demonstrating the resilience expected of a top-five star recruit. [edit]
