    About

Every Time I Die was an American metalcore band from Buffalo, New York, formed in 1998. For most of the band's career, the line-up was centred on brothers Keith (vocals) and Jordan Buckley (guitar), as well as rhythm guitarist Andy Williams, with bassist Stephen Micciche also being in the band for a cumulative 15 of the band's 24 years. After spending the first decade of their career on the Ferret Music label, they signed with Epitaph Records in 2008 and remained there until their split in early 2022.

The group garnered acclaim for their energetic and intense live shows, as well as their constantly evolving sound. Kerrang! noted that the band "shaped the cutting edge of modern metalcore." Their legacy includes nine studio albums and a unique crossover appeal that extended into professional wrestling through founding member Andy Williams.

    Formation Story

The band took root in Buffalo, New York, in 1998 when brothers Keith and Jordan Buckley joined forces with Andy Williams. They spent the first decade of their career on the Ferret Music label, building a reputation through constant touring and a distinct blend of hardcore punk and metalcore. In 2008, they signed with Epitaph Records, where they remained until their split in 2022. The band is widely recognized for shaping the evolution of modern metalcore.

Early lineups saw several changes before settling into a more stable configuration. Josh Scogin served as vocalist from 2006 to 2011, bringing a different vocal dynamic before Keith returned. Stephen Micciche joined in 2005 and remained until the band's dissolution in 2022, contributing to fifteen of the band's twenty-four years together. The band released nine studio albums before disbanding in early 2022 following the release of their final album, Radical, in October 2021.

    Musical Style

Every Time I Die was celebrated for a constantly evolving sound that refused to stay static. Their debut The Great Fire (2002) and New Junk Aesthetic (2004) established a raw, chaotic mix of hardcore punk and metalcore, characterized by Keith Buckley's aggressive screams and rapid tempo shifts. With You're Welcome (2008) and Live in London (2009), the band refined their sound, incorporating more melodic elements while maintaining heaviness.

Later albums like No One Got Left Behind (2012) and What You Fight For (2014) demonstrated a matured, dynamic range, blending technical precision with emotional depth. Death of a Dead Day (2017) and Radical (2021) continued this trajectory, featuring complex structures and introspective lyrics, solidifying their status as innovators.
