Esteban Chaves achieved a rare feat in 2016 by finishing on the podium at both the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España, becoming the first Colombian to do so in a single season. His victory at Il Lombardia that year placed him among the elite riders who have won a Monument. Throughout his career, he accumulated five Grand Tour stage wins and 12 professional victories, a testament to his consistency and climbing ability. His resilience in returning from a life-threatening crash and a severe knee injury earned him widespread admiration.
