Emperor Ankō

Emperor Ankō is recognized as the 20th Emperor of Japan in the Imperial House of Japan's official list of succession. His legacy is preserved in the ancient chronicles Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, which document his brief and violent reign. While he holds no modern honors, his depiction in 19th-century art and his role in the consolidation of the Yamato state mark him as a significant figure in Japanese historiography.
