Eli Wallach's career stands as a testament to the power of character acting. He won a Tony Award for The Rose Tattoo in 1951 and a BAFTA Award for Baby Doll in 1957. He received an Academy Honorary Award in 2010 for his lifetime achievements. Posthumously, he was awarded a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre in 2015. He also received the National Medal of Arts in 2013.
