Elderson Echiéjilé

Elderson Uwa Echiéjilé, born on 20 January 1988 in Benin City, is a Nigerian former professional footballer who made his name as a left-back. His journey began at Bendel Insurance before he moved to Europe in 2007, signing with French club Rennes. At Rennes, he spent most of his time as a reserve, which prompted a move to Portugal's Primeira Liga with Braga. Over four seasons at Braga, he developed into a reliable defender and helped the club reach the 2011 Europa League final. In 2014, he returned to France to join Monaco, but his time there was marked by several loan spells until his release in 2018. On the international stage, Echiéjilé represented Nigeria from 2009 to 2018, earning over 50 caps.
