Flores's standout achievement came early, when he was named the best player of the 2011 U-20 Copa Libertadores, a tournament his team won. He has since been a reliable scorer for Peru, sharing the top qualifying goals with Paolo Guerrero for the 2018 World Cup. His three Peruvian championships with Universitario mark him as a key figure in the club's recent success.
