    Overview

EA Sports UFC 6 is a mixed martial arts fighting video game developed by EA Vancouver and published by Electronic Arts. It launched on October 24, 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, marking the first entry in the series built exclusively for current-generation hardware. Built on a modified Frostbite Engine, the game runs at 4K 60fps in Performance Mode or 30fps with ray-traced reflections in Quality Mode. Loading times are near-instant thanks to SSD integration, and the DualSense controller on PS5 delivers haptic feedback for every punch, kick, and submission attempt.

The game introduces a new Flow State striking system that chains combos fluidly based on directional input and timing. Grappling gets a Grapple Assist option for newcomers alongside a manual Grapple Gauntlet radial menu for veterans. The Damage System tracks cumulative trauma to specific body parts - a busted leg saps kicking power, while body damage drains stamina faster. A new Alter Egos feature offers alternate versions of fighters from specific eras, like Prime Anderson Silva or 2015 Conor McGregor, each with unique stats, moves, and visual designs. Career mode expands with Road to the Title, a narrative-driven path featuring press conferences, training camps, and rivalries, plus a deeper Create-a-Fighter system.

The base roster includes over 250 fighters, from current champions like Islam Makhachev and Jon Jones to legends like Ronda Rousey and Chuck Liddell. The game sold 3.2 million copies in its first two months, making it the fastest-selling entry in the franchise. Digital sales accounted for 55% of units, with the Deluxe Edition representing 22% of sales. By year's end, lifetime sales hit 4.1 million units and generated over $250 million including microtransactions. The game won Best Sports Game at The Game Awards 2025 and Best Fighting Game at the D.I.C.E. Awards 2026. Post-launch DLC includes the Legacy Pack (featuring Fedor Emelianenko and Ken Shamrock) and the Pride Pack (adding the Pride FC arena and ruleset). Free updates include Fight Week events tied to real UFC pay-per-views.

    Gameplay

Flow State striking lets you chain combos by holding a direction and timing your strikes, with automatic lunges and pivots to track opponents. The Grapple Assist simplifies takedowns and submissions for newcomers, while the Grapple Gauntlet gives veterans a radial menu with stamina costs for each move. The Damage System tracks cumulative trauma to head, body, and legs, with visual bruising and swelling that affects performance. Alter Egos are era-specific versions of fighters with distinct stats, moves, and appearance, such as Prime Jon Jones or 2015 Conor McGregor. Career mode's Road to the Title includes press conferences, training camps, and rivalries that affect fight hype and stats. Create-a-Fighter offers deep customization for appearance, fighting style, and signature moves, with over 200 parts and 50 techniques. Online modes include Ranked Seasons with cross-play, Quick Fight, 16-player Tournaments, and Fight Island rotating playlists with unique rules. Co-op Career lets two players share a gym and train together in separate weight classes.

    Story

Road to the Title begins with your created fighter signing with the UFC. You pick a weight class and a coach, then work through a regional scene before earning a Contender Series fight. Win that, and you enter the UFC roster with a ranking near the bottom. Each fight week includes a press conference where you can taunt opponents or play it humble, affecting fan support and sponsor offers. Training camps let you choose between skills training, cardio, or studying your opponent's tape, with mini-games for each. Rivalries develop naturally if you face the same fighter multiple times or trash-talk at pressers. Key story beats include a title eliminator, a championship fight, and potential rematches. The mode also features historical flashbacks where you control Alter Egos in iconic real fights, like Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin or Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate.
