Drew Brees retired as the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards and completions, marks since surpassed but still among the highest. He is the only quarterback in NFL history with five 5,000-yard passing seasons and led the league in passing yards a record seven times. His 54 consecutive games with a touchdown pass broke Johnny Unitas's 52-year-old record. Brees was a 13-time Pro Bowler and a first-team All-Pro in 2006. In 2010, Sports Illustrated named him Sportsman of the Year and the Associated Press voted him Male Athlete of the Year. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026.
