Douglas Stuart

Douglas Stuart's debut novel Shuggie Bain won the Booker Prize, making him one of only a handful of first-time authors to claim the award. The novel was also named one of the 25 Best Books of the 21st Century by the Sunday Times. He holds honorary doctorates from the University of Glasgow and Heriot-Watt University. His second novel, Young Mungo, was a Sunday Times bestseller and a finalist for the Carnegie Medal. His third novel, John of John, was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize in Political Fiction. Stuart's work has been translated into more than 40 languages, and he has been profiled in the BBC documentary series Imagine.
