Doug Serrurier

Doug Serrurier's achievements are measured not in trophies but in the cars he built and the races he entered. As a constructor, he created the LDS marque, which became a recognised presence in South African racing. His three Formula One starts, all at his home Grand Prix, marked him as one of the country's early representatives on the world stage, and his engineering work inspired later generations of local builders.
