Don't Be Dumb

After nearly eight years, A$AP Rocky returned with his fourth studio album Don't Be Dumb, released on January 16, 2026. The project dropped through AWGE / A$AP Worldwide and RCA Records, marking his first full-length since 2018's Testing. Rocky assembled a sprawling guest list that includes BossMan Dlow, Brent Faiyaz, Gorillaz, Doechii, Jessica Pratt, Sauce Walka, Westside Gunn, and will.i.am, with digital editions adding Jozzy, Tokischa, Tyler, the Creator, and Imogen Heap. Additional contributors like Jon Batiste, Thundercat, A$AP Nast, and Danny Elfman also appear across the 18 tracks.

Commercially, Don't Be Dumb debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, giving Rocky his first chart-topping debut in over a decade. It opened with 123,000 equivalent album units in its first week, becoming his third career number one. Pre-release demand was massive: over 130,000 vinyl copies sold before release and it became the most pre-saved hip-hop album on Spotify with over 1 million pre-saves. The album's visual identity was shaped by filmmaker Tim Burton, who designed the cover art and oversaw the promotional music video rollout, lending a gothic, whimsical aesthetic to the campaign. Key singles include Punk Rocky, whose video was co-directed by Rocky, Folkert Verdoorn, and Simon Becks and stars Winona Ryder, and Helicopter, both featuring surreal visuals.

Critically, the album received generally positive reviews, with attention to its eclectic production and ambitious scope. Apple Music described it as a return to stylish, self-possessed art rap, alternately brash and sophisticated. The album leans into alter egos, cinematic visuals, and big creative swings, reinforcing Rocky's image as a conceptual, fashion-forward artist.
