Don Lemon has been recognized with some of journalism's highest honors. He won an Edward R. Murrow Award for his reporting on the Beltway sniper attacks, a story that put him on the national map. His three regional Emmys reflect consistent excellence in local and national reporting. The NAACP Image Award and GLAAD Media Award highlight his work on race and LGBT issues, areas where he has been a vocal advocate. In 2023, the National Association of Black Journalists gave him a Lifetime Achievement Award, acknowledging his three decades in the industry. TIME magazine named him one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2019, and he received an honorary doctorate from Morehouse College that same year.
