Domestic Girlfriend

Natsuo Fujii spends his high school years pining for Hina Tachibana, a teacher who rejects his advances. At a party shortly after the rejection, he sleeps with Rui Tachibana to forget his feelings, only to discover she is Hina's younger sister. Days later, Natsuo learns his father is marrying their mother, instantly making Hina his stepmother and Rui his stepsister. The story follows the three characters as they navigate this forbidden arrangement while grappling with intense emotions and societal taboos.

Kei Sasuga wrote and illustrated the series, which ran in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from April 2014 until June 2020. The chapters were collected into 28 tankōbon volumes under the Shōnen Magazine Comics imprint. Kodansha USA licensed the English edition for digital distribution, bringing the complete run to international readers. The narrative explores themes of regret, adolescent desire, and the complexities of non-traditional family structures without relying on easy resolutions. [edit]
