Dogville

Grace Mulligan arrives in a dusty Colorado town seeking refuge from gangsters hunting her down. She finds shelter with the residents of Dogville, but their kindness comes with a steep price tag. Grace must trade her labor for safety, slowly realizing that the community's tolerance has limits as she becomes increasingly vulnerable to their demands. Nicole Kidman leads the cast as the fugitive, while Paul Bettany plays Tom Edison, the man who initially offers her help. Stellan Skarsgård and Patricia Clarkson round out the ensemble as townspeople who shift from neighbors to tormentors over time.[edit]
