DMX set a historic record as the first artist to have his first five studio albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200. He sold over 75 million records worldwide, a staggering figure for any hip-hop artist. His raw, emotional style influenced a generation of rappers. In 2022, a street in Yonkers, New York, was renamed DMX Way in his honor. He was posthumously celebrated at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards with a tribute performance. Rolling Stone ranked him number 83 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
