Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo

Lumumba-Kasongo's accolades live inside the Gym Class Heroes story rather than beside it. He was a founding member of a band that put two singles in the Billboard Hot 100 top 10, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, and helped define the sound of mid-2000s alternative hip-hop. His guitar work on "Cupid's Chokehold" and "The Fighter" is the thread that ties those achievements together. For a self-taught player from a small upstate New York town, that is a career most session guitarists never get near.
