Diego Luna's achievements reflect a career built on bold choices and consistent quality. His breakthrough in Y Tu Mamá También earned him Mexico's highest film honor, the Ariel Award for Best Actor. He is one of the few Mexican actors to lead a billion-dollar Hollywood franchise with Rogue One. His performance in Andor earned back-to-back Golden Globe nominations, a rare feat for a Star Wars series. Luna has also been recognized for his humanitarian work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

He won the Imagen Award for Best Actor in a Feature Film for Rogue One in 2017. In 2023, he won the Platino Award for Best Actor in a Television Series for Andor. He was also part of the ensemble that won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for Milk in 2009.
