Destroy All Humans. They Can't Be Regenerated.

Set in the late 1990s at Tokiwagi Middle School, the story follows Hajime Kano, an awkward student who finds his life transformed after discovering Magic: The Gathering. His academic rival Emi Sawatari initially clashes with him over grades and social standing, but their relationship shifts as they bond over competitive deck building and tournament play. The narrative captures the specific nostalgia of pre-internet gaming culture while detailing the psychological stakes of high school strategy games.

The title serves as a direct homage to the iconic "Wrath of God" spell card from Magic: The Gathering, swapping "creatures" for "humans" to reflect the focus on middle schoolers rather than fantasy monsters. Writer Katsura Ise and artist Takuma Yokota collaborated with Wizards of the Coast to ensure the card mechanics and meta-game strategies remained accurate throughout the run.

Originally serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace from November 2018 to April 2025, the series concluded after six years. Viz Media acquired the English rights in May 2024, launching the first volume in Fall 2024 under the imprint "A Magic: The Gathering Manga." This release included exclusive promotional cards featuring original artwork to celebrate the crossover between the trading card game and manga markets. [edit]
