Dell Curry's legacy is defined by his longevity and his pioneering role in the evolution of shooting in the NBA. He retired as the Charlotte Hornets' all-time leader in points (9,839) and three-point field goals made (929), records that stood for many years. His induction into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame and the retirement of his jersey number 30 by the Hornets underscore his lasting impact on the franchise. Being the father of two NBA champions further cements his place in basketball lore as a unique figure who influenced the game both on and off the court.

AwardsWhile Dell Curry did not win individual major awards like MVP or Defensive Player of the Year during his playing career, he received significant honors later in his career and post-retirement. He was selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 1987. In 2026, the Hornets officially retired his jersey number, acknowledging him as a franchise legend and the team's all-time leading scorer and three-point shooter.
