Records
Deco is one of the most decorated midfielders of his era. He is one of the few players to win the UEFA Champions League with two different clubs, and his 2004 campaign with Porto is regarded as one of the greatest individual seasons by a midfielder. He was runner-up for the Ballon d'Or in 2004, a year in which he also won the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award. His inclusion in the UEFA Team of the Year for two consecutive seasons reflects his sustained excellence at the highest level. He is inducted into the Portuguese Football Hall of Fame.
