David Bahati

David Bahati's career is defined by sustained service in Uganda's government rather than trophies or formal accolades. His notable achievement is his longevity in cabinet, surviving multiple reshuffles and remaining a trusted figure in economic policy. He was first appointed minister in 2021, and his reappointment in 2026, even after losing his parliamentary seat, speaks to his standing within the ruling party. His practical impact is seen in policy decisions like the suspension of trade order operations and his advocacy for lower interest rates. These moves have earned him respect among business communities, even if they don't translate into traditional awards.
