Dave Mustaine's career is marked by extraordinary achievements. He is the founder and sole constant member of Megadeth, one of the Big Four thrash metal bands, with over 38 million records sold worldwide. His 1990 album Rust in Peace is frequently ranked among the greatest metal albums of all time. After eight Grammy nominations, he finally won in 2017 for Dystopia. Guitar World named him the greatest heavy metal guitarist of all time in 2004, and Rolling Stone placed him at No. 89 on its list of the 100 greatest guitarists. His resilience in overcoming addiction, a career-threatening nerve injury, and throat cancer has made his story one of perseverance.
