Darius Acuff Jr. has packed an extraordinary amount of achievement into a short career. He is the first Cass Tech player to win Michigan Mr. Basketball since 2016. He became the first Detroit-born player drafted by the Kings since 1995. In his rookie NBA season, he made the All-Rookie Second Team, a rare feat for a late lottery pick. His back-to-back Gatorade Michigan Player of the Year awards place him among the state's all-time great high school prospects. Off the court, he received the Key to the City of Detroit in 2025 and set a Guinness World Record for most three-pointers in a high school state championship game.
