Dan Smith

Smith's record is measured in songs rather than trophies. As the writer and voice behind Bastille, he turned a set of bedroom demos into a catalogue that includes "Pompeii," one of the most enduring alt-pop singles of the 2010s, and four studio albums released across a decade. His publishing and production work extends beyond the band, with songs recorded by Rag'n'Bone Man and composing credits on films including Bright and Twist. The 2024 solo project & and the @writtenbydansmith account show a writer still adding to the pile. Individual awards are not documented, and the achievements here are the kind that show up in playlists and singalongs rather than on a trophy shelf.
