Founded in 2005 by Martin Pos, CYBEX emerged from Kulmbach to redefine the German market for child safety products. In 2014, the Chinese conglomerate Goodbaby International acquired the company, providing the capital needed for significant international growth. Despite this change in ownership structure, CYBEX maintained its headquarters in Bayreuth and kept its original design philosophy intact. This strategy allowed the brand to scale production while preserving the quality standards that defined its early years.

The product line has evolved far beyond traditional baby gear to include lifestyle categories. In mid-2026, the brand launched the Inline Collection, a streetwear line for adults and children featuring oversized silhouettes inspired by Tokyo and New York fashion scenes.
