Zanin's record is measured in institutional trust rather than trophies. A 58 to 18 Senate confirmation is a comfortable margin for a nominee whose client was the sitting president, and it put him on the court that had convicted that client. In 2026 his colleagues elected him to a second term as a TSE substitute minister, a vote of confidence from the electoral bench. His academic contribution, a co-authored book on lawfare built around the Lula prosecution, gave the Brazilian legal debate a vocabulary it still uses.
