Connor Hellebuyck

Born in Commerce Township, Michigan, Connor Hellebuyck grew up to become one of the most dominant forces on an ice rink. This 33-year-old goaltender currently anchors the Winnipeg Jets in the National Hockey League. His path to the top wasn't immediate; he spent a single season with the Odessa Jackalopes in the North American Hockey League before the Jets selected him 130th overall in the 2012 draft. He then honed his skills over two years at UMass Lowell, where he claimed the inaugural Mike Richter Award as the nation's top collegiate goalie. After a brief stint with the St. John's IceCaps during the 2014–15 season, he took over as the team's primary starter for the 2016–17 campaign. Hellebuyck quickly established himself as elite talent, earning the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's most valuable player and securing the Vezina Trophy three times as the best goaltender. He also won the William M. Jennings Trophy twice for allowing the fewest goals against.
