    About This Song

Harry Styles released Coming Up Roses as a single on 30 October 2026, the eighth track on his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. It was the record's fourth single. Kid Harpoon, who has produced most of Styles' solo work, took the production chair, and Jules Buckley handled the arrangement, bringing the orchestral background he built with the Heritage Orchestra and at the BBC Proms.

The song is a love song, though the people who wrote about it in March 2026 kept qualifying that. Elle reported it began life as a Christmas song before it turned into something else. The lyric sheet carries the ambivalence plainly: "Tell me your fears / But I'm not devoid of an appetite / And everything seems to be coming up roses / But I'm scared if we're both right." Genius described the track as reflecting vulnerability and uncertainty, and fan discussion settled on the title idiom as shorthand for things improving after a hard stretch, which is not quite the same as a happy ending.

Fred again.. gave the song an early airing on 26 February 2026, roughly a week before the record drew its first wave of reviews. Rolling Stone ran a feature on 6 March under the headline "A Touch of Harry in the Night: Why 'Coming Up Roses' Is Harry Styles' Emotional Powerhouse." Wonderland published its review the same day, and Capital FM weighed in on what it called the moving meaning behind the lyrics.
